Christian group gets 20,000 signatures against new Amazon TV show but sends to Netflix by mistake

They're unhappy about the new Amazon series Good Omens which tells the story of an angel and a demon who are good friends.

The petition, which has been put together by the Christian group Return to Order, states: "This series presents devils and Satanists as normal and even good, where they merely have a different way of being, and mocks God's wisdom.

"This is another step to make Satanism appear normal, light and acceptable. We must show our rejection."

While huge numbers have voiced their objections, the petition was sent to the wrong television network.

Netflix received the complaint despite Amazon making the series.

Writing on Twitter, Netflix joked "ok we promise not to make any more".

Return to Orders says it will rectify the mistake and make sure the petition now gets to Amazon.

In a world of fake news there’s never been a greater need for quality Christian journalism. Premier’s mission is to provide the Church with the most up to date and relevant news, told from a Christian perspective. But we can’t do it without you.

Unlike many websites we haven't put up a paywall — we want to keep our journalism free at the point of need and as open as we can. For a monthly gift of $11 or more we’d also be able to send you a free copy of the brand new Premier Bible, a wonderful Anglicised version of the NLT packed with exclusive bonus content, reading plan and resources to help you get the most out of scripture.

Your monthly support will make a world of difference. Thank you.
