Stephen Timms, the Labour candidate for East Ham, explained one manifesto pledge, explaining: "We should put in place a centre for universal health coverage to encourage and support developing countries as they set up their own universal health systems.
The three candidates appeared alongside Tearfund's Chief Executive Office Nigel Harris and YouTube vlogger Kaydee Bassun.
"We've got one in the UK, we want other countries to have one as well and we can help them, support them and encourage them."
Conservative candidate for Aylesbury, David Lidington, said: "Whether you look at Ebola and our response to that, whether you look at the £2.3 billion that was allocated to humanitarian relief in the Syrian refugee crisis, I think the Conservative Party can say that we've got a good track record on delivering practical policies with that clear ethical foundation."
Lib Dem candidate for Mitcham and Morden, Claire Mathys says her party would use the foreign aid budget carefully, explaining: "It needs to be for aid.
"There are millions of people around the world who are suffering, who don't have adequate food or sanitation, they don't have schooling and there are many needs that we absolutely must meet."
