Christian analyst supports US airstrikes in Iraq

The attacks took place on 14th and 15th September. They focused on areas to the south-west of Baghdad and near Sinjar in northern Iraq.

Middle East analyst Simon Barrett, a Christian, has welcomed the latest American airstrikes.

On Premier's News Hour, he said: "It's essential that the threat that's posed by ISIS is eliminated, otherwise, what we'll see is that Iraq and Syria will become a safe haven in which ISIS will then launch major terrorist operations that could potentially threaten British, European and American security.

"ISIS do pose a very, very real and dangerous threat; not only to the future peace and stability of Iraq, but to Syria and to the region as well," he added.

Last week the US president announced he was stepping up his country's military response to IS.

For a monthly gift of $11 or more we’d also be able to send you a free copy of the brand new Premier Bible, a wonderful Anglicised version of the NLT packed with exclusive bonus content, reading plan and resources to help you get the most out of scripture.

Your monthly support will make a world of difference. Thank you.
