A new docu-series covering a sequence of scandals at the global Hillsong Church will feature interviews with disgraced pastor Carl Lentz and his wife, Laura, as the couple open up about his infidelity.

Lentz - who initially garnered public attention when he began hanging out with some of the world’s biggest celebrities - was fired from the megachurch in November 2020 over “moral failures.”

In the series, the former Hillsong New York pastor talks about the extramarital affair which led to his dismissal.  His wife, Laura Lentz, also features in the programme - producers say they were given 'unprecedented access' to the couple, who have remained married.

In 2021 another Hillsong pastor, who had previously worked for the Lentz family as a nanny, accused Carl of bullying, abuse of power and sexual abuse.  He strongly denies the allegations.

Carl Lentz recently joined the staff of Transformation Church, in Oklahoma, led by pastor and YouTuber Mike Todd.

The four-part series – set to air on Hulu next month – will also cover allegations against the former megachurch global leader and founder Brian Houston.

Houston left Hillsong last year following allegations of improper conduct involving two women.

He is also currently at the centre of a legal trial to decide whether he intentionally concealed sexual abuse crimes committed by his father against minors. He pleads not guilty.

The late Frank Houston – a former Assemblies of God pastor – is believed to have told his son of his crimes.

The trial began in Sydney before Christmas, and is due to reconvene this summer.
