Britney Spears fans shocked at her Instagram post of Birmingham church

by Lydia Davies

Britney Spears has intrigued her Instagram followers with a post that seems to feature landmarks from Birmingham, UK, with the focal point being St Martin's Church.

The 42-year-old pop icon uploaded a drawing with the caption 'Just a pen and church!'

The artwork showcased elements of Birmingham's skyline, notably St Martin's Church and the iconic Selfridges building at the Bullring shopping centre.

Fans took to social media to share their surprise and amusement at Spears' choice of subject. One user on X commented: "Britney Spears posting a sketch she did of the Bullring in Birmingham was not something I was ever expecting to see."

Questions and humorous reactions continued with another user asking: "Why has Britney Spears posted a hand-drawn picture of Birmingham on her Instagram, may I ask?" and another saying: "Britney Spears drawing the Bullring in Birmingham has sent me to the moon."

The Bullring itself joined in on the fun by sharing Spears' drawing on its Instagram account next to an actual photo of St Martin's Church and Selfridges, playfully captioning it 'Sketch me baby one more time!'

Spears has yet to confirm whether the sketch indeed represents Birmingham's iconic landmarks.
