The wife of megachurch founder Brian Houston has spoken out in support of her husband.
Bobbie Houston took to social media to say she will "forever stand alongside him" amid allegations he acted inappropriately towards two women ten years ago.
In a public statement, Hillsong Church revealed Houston had sent inappropriate text messages to a member of staff, and entered the hotel room of a different woman while drunk.
Consequently, Brian Houston resigned from his role as senior global pastor at Hillsong on Wednesday. He founded the Sydney church 20 years ago.
"Thank you for lovely comments and love. It's seen. And felt. And appreciated,' Bobbie continued.
"I'm okay. It's been a very cruel week - but I will forever stand alongside the man I have loved and walked with for 45 years.
"I know his nature and character and integrity more than ANYONE."
Bobbie's remarks echoed the support already expressed by Houston's daughter, Laura Toggs, who had also shared on Instagram she chooses to support her dad.
"I choose to text my beloved dad 'I love you' a thousand times again - and I choose my bravest of brave mum," she said.
"And as exhausting as it may be, I choose once again to take a higher road and keep my heart with utmost gentleness & humility & grace. I choose," she concluded.
Houston's two other children, Ben and Joel Houston, have not commented publicly on their father's resignation.
