Crossroads Mission involves local communities putting on events to get more people talking about God and asking questions about faith.
Thousands of schoolchildren are expected to attend and people from all walks of life will have a chance to ask religious figures, like the Archbishop of York Dr John Sentamu (below), about Jesus.
The Bishop of Lancaster, Rt Revd Geoff Pearson, told Premier: "Archbishop Sentamu is going to be sitting on a sofa and he's open to conversation, there will be opportunities in many of the meetings for people to share their questions and for people to engage in all sorts of conversations."
"You look at the papers or you read the news at the moment and there's such a lot of bad news about, but that's only one side of the truth, and we wanted to make sure in some way that we communicated good news, and the good news of the Gospel.
"We're talking about 450 events, we're talking big events, so a football ground for about 5,000 primary school children, but then there's also lots of smaller events in homes, in local churches across Lancashire."
Youth workers, ordinands and clergy will be working with bishops and laity from across northern England in Lancashire over a four-day period.
Archbishop Sentamu added: "Throughout August I have prayed daily for the Crossroads Mission that we encourage all to come to encounter Jesus Christ; that we will be filled and renewed by the power of the Holy Spirit and that we go out to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and God's love with everyone."
