A prominent bishop from Sydney, Australia has issued a dire warning about the potential consequences of World War III.

In a recent statement shared on social media, Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel claimed that one-third of the global population could perish due to nuclear warfare, describing the aftermath as the "most disastrous time humanity has ever faced."

The bishop warned that the survivors of such a catastrophic conflict would envy the dead, as widespread destruction would leave the world unrecognisable.

"The entire land will melt, and the people with it," he said, painting a grim picture of nuclear devastation.

Highlighting the grim reality of modern weaponry, Mar Mari Emmanuel argued that nuclear arms were designed with one purpose: to be used.

"They were not created to sit in museums or serve as photo backdrops," he said, adding that their deployment could mark the prophesied Armageddon.
