Tara-Leigh Cobble’s Bible reading podcast ‘The Bible Recap’ has reached the top 10 of Apple’s podcasts for the third year running.
In an interview with Fox News, Cobble celebrated the news, drawing a link between the podcast’s popularity and the recent surge of interest in Christianity.
“People are hungry for God’s Word," she explained, stating also that she had noticed a rise in people who had previously “walked away or deconstructed” faith coming “back home”.
Since its launch in 2019, originally aimed at an audience of around 300 listeners, the podcast has grown rapidly, now attracting more than 500 million downloads each week from listeners worldwide.
The app is intended to help make the Bible more accessible, with Cobbe suggesting habits such as incorporating the app into a morning routine over coffee or breakfast, or following along with a friend, as practical ways to engage.
“I like to listen to each day’s reading on the audio Bible app while I make my coffee," she said.
In addition to her podcast, Cobble has recently launched an equivalent tool for children, a podcast called ‘The Bible Recap Kids’, which works in a similar way to the adult version of the podcast, but simplifies language to create a way families can read the Bible together.
“Remember: every day that you’re in God’s Word, you’re right on time,” the host concluded. “He promises that if you seek Him with all your heart, you will find Him!”
