Anglican priests in Australia are being allowed to go to police if they take a confession of a serious crime.
Previously church law meant they were sworn to secrecy unless the person consented to them disclosing the information.
Priests still won't be obliged to come forward but the change, which was voted on at the General Synod, means they now have the option.
