Arsenal players glorify God in Premier League title celebrations

by James Lewis

Arsenal’s ‘Bible Brothers’ have celebrated their Premier League title win by giving glory to God.

The Gunners are champions for the first time in 22 years, with their win confirmed on Tuesday evening after Manchester City failed to beat Bournemouth.

During the early-morning celebrations outside the Emirates Stadium, one fan ran up to Jurrien Timber and Eberechi Eze and started singing the worship song Goodness of God.

Timber posted “How good is God” on X within minutes of the result. Nicknamed Pastor Timber, he frequently posts Bible verses on social media that come to him while speaking to teammates, staff and his family.

Eze posted “God alone decides” with pictures outside the club’s stadium on Instagram. In an interview with Men in Blazers, Eze said his “only mission” in football and life is to glorify God.

“Without God it’s impossible”, Gabriel Jesus posted on Instagram. Earlier this season, the striker revealed an undershirt emblazoned with “I belong to Jesus” as he celebrated scoring on his return from a year-long injury.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has previously told TNT Sports that the players’ faith strengthens their wellbeing and team bonding. Noni Madueke and Bukayo Saka have also been outspoken about their Christian faith.
