Police are hunting a vicar who has failed to appear in court charged with drink driving and assaulting a woman.
Revd David Davies was due before Torquay magistrates but when he didn't show up officials issued a warrant for his arrest.
The court heard the 50-year-old was fit to appear but had given his solicitor a letter to excuse himself.
But when magistrates asked the vicar's solicitor if he know where the accused was he replied 'no'.
Revd Davies is no longer working as the parish priest in Cockington, Devon.
