A pastor at Casa de Adoracion in Phoenix, Arizona, has been indicted on multiple charges of voyeurism after allegedly installing a hidden camera in a church bathroom to record women.
According to The Independent, Arturo Laguna was arrested on 6th November 2024, after a woman discovered the device when it fell from a dryer in the church bathroom while she was changing her baby’s diaper.
Following an investigation, Phoenix police detectives recovered evidence, including four videos of adult women using the restroom, stored on the camera’s SD card.
According to police reports, detectives obtained a screenshot showing Laguna adjusting the camera in the bathroom.
When confronted, Laguna reportedly admitted to installing the device in October.
Laguna has been charged with multiple counts of voyeurism, a felony offense in Arizona.
Under state law, voyeurism involves recording or photographing someone without their consent for sexual gratification, and those convicted can face several years in prison.
Laguna is currently in custody and is expected to appear in court on 8th January 2025.
The Phoenix Police Department continues its investigation into the case, and further updates are expected as legal proceedings progress.
