2,000 people were baptised in he second annual Jesus Revolution Baptism hosted by Harvest Ministries.
This event hosted at Pirate's Cove Beach in Corona Del Mar, California, was a follow-up to Evangelist Greg Laurie's 2024 Harvest Crusade at Angel Stadium.
In an interview with The Christian Post Greg Laurie detailed the extensive preparation for the event, highlighting its importance. "The preparation included public announcements and work from the Harvest Ministries team. All participants were walked through the significance of baptism and the mark of faith that it represents" he said.
Reflecting on the previous year's event where approximately 4,500 people were baptised, including Laurie's granddaughter, Laurie observed this surge as potentially indicative of a spiritual awakening. He said: "With over 6,500 people baptised at Pirate's Cove Beach over the past 12 months, it may be indicative of a coming move of God that will sweep our land."
The impact of the Jesus Revolution movie is credited with inspiring many to seek baptism at Pirate's Cove Beach. Laurie told the outlet: "There is no doubt that many people have been inspired by the scenes from that film and wanted to be baptised in the same spot.
"It is incredibly moving to witness so many lives transformed and committed to Christ" he said. "Pirate's Cove has become a place of renewal and hope, and we are blessed to be part of this ongoing journey of faith."
