Up to 10,000 Christians to join Belfast March for Jesus

by Lydia Davies

Thousands are set to take part in the annual March for Jesus in Belfast this Saturday, after it was previously cancelled just days before it was set to take place in June.

The march will start at Ormeau Park and conclude with a service at City Hall.

Organised by the All Nations Church, the evangelical event will feature over two dozen congregations and live addresses from speakers, with Christian musician Brian Houston leading worship.

In an interview with Irish News US, Pastor John Ahern of All Nations Church clarified the nature of the march, saying: “The march does not have any formal or informal connection with the Catholic Church. It is an evangelical initiative, not an ecumenical one.”

He also invited wider participation, saying: “The March of Jesus is a non-denominational Christian event and we would like to invite people from all backgrounds to join us. In the bible Jesus is known as the Prince of Peace and it is that message that we will be celebrating.”
