Winners crowned at Premier Digital Awards

by Antony Bushfield

Kingdom's Guide took the coveted People's Choice Award, the only honour voted on by the public. The Cartoon Blog was a runner up in the category.

Surrender My Agenda was named blogger of the year, whilst Girl Got Faith took the multi-author blog of the year award.

You can see the whole list of winners here.

Hosted by Faith Child and Maria Rodrigues, the awards were part of the Premier Digital Conference. At least 500 people attended the event at the Brewery conference centre in the City of London.

Judges included David Adabale, Head of Media at New Wine Church, and Chine McDonald, Director of Communications and Membership and the Evangelical Alliance.

Awards also went to Goodmayes Baptist Church's website, the iSingWorship app, Christians Against Poverty, Church Urban Fund and The Lily Jo Project.

The gong for Best Use of Video was given to Four Kinds of Christmas, an interesting take on the different types of Christmas celebrations.

TGI Monday was credited with the most creative use of social media, while the most Engaging Large Church website was St Thomas Norwich.

The Hub Church took the award for small church website.

Elsewhere, the Most Inspiring Leadership Blog was named as Youth Work Hacks, Girl Got Faith was given the Up and coming Award and the Young Blogger of the Year is The Mustard Seed.

Mark Russell of the Church Army was awarded the Tweeter of the Year gong.

Winners were given a trophy, certificate, digital trophy for their site and a prize, like a digital camera or tablet computer.

Kevin Bennett, Chief Operating Officer at Premier said: "The finalists for this year's awards have been truly inspirational.

"They are testimony to the vitality and creativity with the Christian community. Our hope is that people across the UK will be encouraged to take up the challenge of communicating the Christian message credibly and relevantly in this digital age.

"We look forward to seeing them as finalists in next year's awards."
