The Bishops of the Church in Wales have called for the new Prime Minister to prioritise the needs of the most vulnerable people.
In a new statement, they've called for whoever takes over from Liz Truss to respond boldly to the cost-of-living crisis and to the needs of refugees.
The statement reads: "As Bishops of the Church in Wales we recognise the huge challenges and demands on our political leaders at this time and we assure them of our prayers.
"We believe the priority of the next Prime Minister is to protect the most vulnerable people in our society. We urge them to respond boldly to address the cost-of-living crisis which, as our churches are already witnessing, is having a devastating impact on our communities. Many people are experiencing extreme hardship and are having to turn to food banks and charitable handouts just to have sufficient food to put on their tables.
"We are also concerned that the needs of those in other countries, including refugees, are being side-lined and forgotten.
"We call for political leadership which shows compassion, integrity and competence and which can unite us all to work for the common good."
It was signed by the Archbishop of Wales as well as the bishops of St Asaph, Llandaff, Monmouth,
Swansea and Brecon, and the assistant Bishop in Bangor.
Front-runners have started to emerge in the second Conservative leadership race in just three months, following the resignation of Liz Truss.
Penny Mordaunt, Rishi Sunak and former Prime Minister Boris Johnson are all tipped to run.
Anyone wanting the job needs 100 Tory MPs to back them by Monday, with Ms Truss' replacement in post by next Friday at the latest.
