The teaser trailer for the highly anticipated fifth season of The Chosen has been released, offering a glimpse of the Last Supper.
The popular series, which dramatises the life and ministry of Jesus, will focus on the events leading up to His crucifixion, according to creator Dallas Jenkins. The new season’s eight episodes will feature pivotal moments, including the Last Supper with the disciples and Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem as King.
“The table is set. The people of Israel welcome Jesus as King while His disciples anticipate His crowning. But—instead of confronting Rome—He turns the tables on His own religious festival. Their power threatened, the country’s religious and political leaders will go to any length to ensure this Passover meal is Jesus’ last,” reads the official description accompanying the trailer on YouTube.
Season 5 is set to premiere in US cinemas in April 2025, just in time for Easter, before becoming available for streaming online.
