A senior Nigerian official has said 21 of the Chibok schoolgirls kidnapped by the Islamic terror group, Boko Haram, have been released.
The country's government has not issued any statement and the man, who spoke to the BBC, wanted to remain anonymous.
In the past reports about some of the girls being released have been false.
Around 276 girls, mostly Christian, were taken by Boko Haram militants in April 2014. They were kidnapped from their school in Borno state.
Dozens managed to escape within days of their abduction however more than 210 of them remain missing. Many are thought to have been married off to Boko Haram fighters.
According to the BBC the official was unable to say how the 21 girls had been released but said they were now in the hands of security services.
