Sir Cliff Richard abuse case set for second review

A review was ordered back in August after one accuser lodged a complaint.

The Christian singer has faced a year of investigations into historical child sex abuse allegations but has never been arrested or charged.

One accusation involves alleged abuse at a Billy Graham rally back in the 1980s.

The 75-year-old has always denied any wrongdoing.

Earlier this week, the Director of Public Prosecutions suggested the review of the decision not to charge him will not drag on for months.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4, Alison Saunders said the CPS would take no longer than 28 days.

She also denied he would be "hung out to dry" waiting for the threat of persecution to be removed, adding: "We are very conscious of the need to have finality for everybody involved."

Premier has contacted the CPS but it would only confirm that a second challenge had been received.
