This year, Glastonbury Festival saw over 200,000 attendees flocking to Worthy Farm in Somerset to witness performances by stars like Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA. Even British royalty was among the crowd, with Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, seen enjoying festival food on Sunday.

Alongside the world's biggest pop hits, Christian music took centre stage when James Partridge, a singer and teacher, led thousands in nostalgic worship songs that many remember singing in their school assemblies.

A TikTok video showed the crowd enthusiastically joining in on He's got the whole world in his hands, waving their arms in unison.

On the second day of the festival, he had the crowd singing Shine Jesus shineOil in my lampThis little light of mine, and He's got the whole world in his hands

Travel influencer Tasha Whitley from Highcliffe shared a clip from James' set on her social media, captioning it: "Assembly time at Glastonbury. Primary school bangers popped off. Best set of Glasto reliving our childhood."

The video featured people of all ages, dressed in vibrant festival attire, singing, dancing, and clapping along to the beloved tunes of their youth.

Tasha was heard singing "Shine Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father's glory" followed by "This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine" before panning the camera to her smiling friend, who was also enjoying the moment.

Another festivalgoer, Emily Hurrell, posted a video of James's set, calling it a memory she would cherish forever. Emily praised James on social media, writing: "Oh my... Primary school bangers live is an absolute Glastonbury highlight. Thanks, James Partridge. Singing 'Shine Jesus Shine' with a few hundred other people will stay with me as a core Glasto memory forever."

James responded to Emily's post, saying: "The most incredible experience ever! Can not believe I've just performed at Glastonbury. Incredible turnout today, the joy of singing really does unite!"

Another TikTok by Elle, a pub singer, showed James at his keyboard, leading the crowd in worship as people sat on the grass waving their arms. She captioned it: "Primary School Assembly bangers to set us up for the day."

Many took to X to discuss James's set. One user wrote: "Oh my days, they had a set at Glastonbury with primary school assembly songs; it actually looked lit." Another commented, "When I said I had no interest in Glastonbury, I didn't know 'primary school bangers' were on the cards!"

James Partridge teaches singing at various schools, including Kensington Prep School, St Paul’s Junior School, St James’s School, and Ibstock Place School. He travels the country performing these nostalgic songs for children as well as adults who want to relive their youth.

According to his website, he has sung on recordings with artists including Sir Paul McCartney, Tom Chaplin and Katherine Jenkins.
