The landmark in central London is searching for a new alto vicar choral - a professional - in its twelve-person group of adult singers.
Speaking with Premier, Tom Daggert, OBE Organ Outreach Fellow at St Paul's Cathedral, said: "We tend to get queries from all over the world when a job like this comes up because people are always quite keen to be part of the English choral tradition and St Paul's, for many people, epitomises that."
St Paul's Cathedral is expecting upwards of 50 applicants for the alto vicar choral vacancy, for which both men and women can apply for.
Explained what qualities the ideal candidate needs to display, Tom Daggert, said: "It's the vocal agility, it's the ability to project in a difficult building in St Paul's, it's the ability to have a broad range of music under the belt."
"It's a choir that is the beating heart of the worship at St Paul's Cathedral. We sing seven sung services a week.
"We make broadcasts and recordings and even go on tour to different parts of the world, so it's a very busy life during term time."
