The Holy See Press Office has confirmed that the Pope is recovering as expected by his doctors.

Vatican officials reported that his condition remains stable, with slight improvements in his respiratory function, mobility, and voice. He continues with treatment and physical therapy, requiring less supplemental oxygen and using high-flow oxygenation at night as needed.

The update follows his first public appearance since leaving the hospital on 23rd March. After Mass for the Jubilee of the Sick and Healthcare Workers on Sunday, the Pope briefly appeared on stage to greet and bless the crowd, saying, "Have a good Sunday, and thank you very much."

The Pontiff is said to be in good spirits, continuing his work, receiving documents from Vatican institutions, and making phone calls. On Monday, he met with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Secretary of State, at Casa Santa Marta where he is recovering. He also continues to concelebrate daily Mass and maintain contact with the Holy Family parish in Gaza.

King Charles and Camilla, who are on a state visit to Rome, had to cancel their visit to the Vatican due to the Pope's ongoing recovery.

Despite these improvements, it is still too early to discuss the Pope's participation in Holy Week liturgies.
