Pope jokes to Argentinian family that drove 13,000 miles to see him "you are crazy"

by Hannah Tooley

Alfredo Walker, 41, wife, Noël Zemborain, 39 and their four children left their home in March to drive to visit the Pope.

Children, Carmin, 3, Mia, 5, Dimas, 8, and Cala, 12, joined their parents in a VW van at Buenos Aires to drive to Philadelphia.

On Sunday they even met and chatted with Pope Francis at his request.

According to The Washington Post the family had a phone call at 6am on Sunday asking them to go immediately to the St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.

On the Facebook page, mother Zemborain said "Imagine the uproar that this caused.

"We all ran from one place to another in complete chaos."

It has been reported that when Pope Francis met them, he joked: "You are the family who traveled from Buenos Aires? You are crazy."

The family hugged the Pope and the children "clung to his waist and did not leave him," according to their mother.
