Chicago's Archbishop Blase Cupich visited him at the Vatican on Tuesday, where he gave him a cap and a signed baseball.
The Archbishop is in Rome for a week of prayer and ministry.

The Chicago Cubs won the World Series, baseball's highest accolade, earlier this month after 108 years without the title.
They beat Cleveland Indians 4-3, having been down 3-1.
