Petition against 'lesbian Jesus' movie reaches 300,000

by Premier Journalist

The backlash against a new movie depicting Jesus as a lesbian woman has continued to grow, with a petition against its release reaching over 300,000 signatures.

'Habit' is set to star Paris Jackson — the daughter of the Michael Jackson — as a divine-like figure who gets involved in a lesbian relationship with a girl who is "masquerading as a nun".

The petition called the film "Christianophobic garbage" and urged distributors not to pick it up.

It reads:

"A new blasphemous Hollywood film is predicted to come out soon depicting Jesus as a lesbian woman. The film “Habit” stars Paris Jackson who plays the role of “lesbian Jesus”. Distributors haven’t picked it up as of yet, so let’s please spread awareness and wake people up to the Christianophobic garbage that is spread nowadays, but is somehow accepted and praised by society."

At the time of writing, the petition has acquired just over 300,000 signatures. Comments have been pouring in on the petition website, with one reading: "Even as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I believe this is extremely disrespectful to the Christian religion and this isn’t ok."

Another petition has been started by the US-based 'One Million Moms' campaign group, who bill themselves as "fighting against indecency" in entertainment media.

The group, who are a division of the conservative Christian lobby group the American Family Association, said the movie was "sacrilegious" and "mocks Christianity and ridicules people of faith".

There is no current release date for the film.
