A Nigerian Muslim woman has given more than 50 Christian widows the gift of food this Christmas.
According to local media reports, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani donated bags of rice to women at the Christ Evangelical Church Ministry in the state of Kaduna.
Tijjani, who has been described as a peace ambassador, said she was inspired by the kindness of the church's Pastor Yohanna Buru who gives out food and water to refugees.
She added that she hopes to continue to strengthen inter-faith relations in Kaduna state.
Kaduna state, located in north-west Nigeria, is a region in which Christians often face severe persecution, predominantly from Islamist Fulani herdsmen.
In January 2016, it was reported that Tijjani donated 50 Bibles written in Hausa language to members of the same church to mark the UN's International Interfaith Harmony Week.
At the time, she told Pulse Nigeria: "I attended the Church service and give my own donation like every Christian just to encourage religious understanding and tolerance between Christians and Muslims for peaceful coexistence in the country and the world at large."
