Millions travelling for Christmas

Almost 90,000 people are expected to leave Britain's busiest airport, Heathrow. The most popular destinations include the Canary Islands, Tunisia and Morocco, as well as Dubai, Mexico, Cuba and Egypt further afield.

John Mackerness who's the co-ordinating Christian chaplain at Heathrow airport told Premier's "News Hour" there are services at the airport on Christmas day. "We've got a full programme of services in the chapels in all of the terminals throughout the morning."

20,000 people will be flying out of Cardiff Airport over Christmas, while 120,00 are expected to fly off from Glasgow airport.
Last year flooding led to a power outage at Gatwick airport which caused delays and cancellations, but this year is a lot more calmer.

Rail travellers are being warned to avoid parts of the West Coast Main Line over the Christmas because of engineering works. The line will be shut between London Euston and Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire after the last trains on Christmas Eve until 29 December.

The same line will also be shut further up between Stafford and Crewe with no trains running between Christmas Eve and Sunday 28 December.

London Bridge station, will be partially closed for 16 days for a rail improvements to the north-south Thameslink line costing 6.5 billion pounds.

Roads are expeted to be quiet during the festive period, but National Express is doubling the number of coaches it runs on Christmas Day, but is running a reduced service on Boxing Day.
