Two new songs have been composed to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The London Community Gospel Choir joined Lesley Garrett CBE and West End star Rodney Early Clarke on the new records, named ‘The Four British Nations’ and ‘We Thank You From Our Hearts’.
The songs have been commissioned by the British Monarchists Society.
The anthem has been described as a “musical journey through the Queen’s life”, as well as a “circumnavigation of the Commonwealth.”
The London Community Gospel Choir has become world-renowned, but this isn’t their first run-in with the Royal Family.
They previously performed at Her Majesty’s 90th birthday celebration.
For the last 25 years the choir has recorded a range of choral, Christian and secular music.
Lesley Garrett, CBE, who takes centre stage on the new song, said: “There has never been a greater need for a song to unite us all than now. Covid and its chaotic aftermath has touched everyone of us, throughout the Commonwealth and the wider world. For 70 years our Queen has been there, the one sure and steadfast rock in our unpredictable world. In this special jubilee year, join us to celebrate her extraordinary devotion and commitment to us all. ‘A diamond in her platinum crown, forever sure and strong’.”
