Lauren Daigle delivered a heartfelt surprise to a 12-year-old survivor of the deadly Camp Mystic flood in Texas, after the girl's rewritten version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" went viral.

Skyler Darrington, who lost 27 fellow campers in the July 4th disaster, performed her emotional tribute live on Fox & Friends, singing:
"They say the water overcame / But I will never forget their names… / The holy and the broken hallelujah."

"I wrote it in honor of all the girls at our camp," she explained. "It was just to sing and remind people what has happened."

Daigle, moved to tears, told Skyler: "You took the tragedy and turned it into something beautiful. That’s so telling of your faith."

Skyler’s cabin was one of the hardest hit, but camp leaders managed to rescue her and several of her peers.

Her parents drove through the night without any communication, finally arriving to find her safe. "That event really helped my faith grow," Skyler said.

Daigle also announced she will release Let It Be a Hallelujah—a long-shelved song—on August 1st. "Sometimes God asks you to wait," she said.

Meanwhile, Christian artists like Cory Asbury are rallying support for flood victims, having raised over $25,000 at a recent benefit concert.
