Kenya's most wanted terrorist captured by gang of youths after "slaughtering" Christians

by Sophie Drew

One of Kenya’s most wanted terrorists has been captured by a gang of local youths.

Rashid Mohamed Salim was cornered in a small village before being handed over to the country’s armed forces.

He is responsible for “slaughtering” a number of Christians, according to International Christian Concern.

A source told the organisation: “We have been receiving pictures and short films of him cutting the throats of Christians and the police. It is said that he is the one who captures them or has them captured via his telephone by fellow rebels when he is in the process of acting and publishes them as propaganda. He is already an Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) commander.”

Salim – who had been on the Kenyan Anti-Terror Police radar since November – has now been arrested.

Prior to his capture, authorities were offering a $100,000 (£745.000) reward to whoever managed to capture him, as well as four other terrorists.

Videos of Salim’s atrocious acts continue to spread – one shows him beheading an armed forces officer, telling viewers that he was killing him “in the name of Allah.”

It’s believed he was radicalised as a teenager at a Mosque in Mombasa – he has since recruited a number of youths into East Africa terrorist groups.

It comes just days after European and American embassies urged nationals in Nairobi to avoid visiting public places.
