20 year old Brazil international has highlighted God as one of the most important influences in the Manchester City player's life. In an exclusive interview with Martin Blackburn of The Sun, he declared: "I have two idols in my life — God and my mum. But the player I look up to is Ronaldo, The Phenomenon."
The striker chose the No 33 to have on the back of his shirt because it represents the age Jesus Christ was when he died. He admits it is an honour to share a name with the son of God.
Jesus (pronounced HEY-ZEUS), said: "I have a lot of faith in God. Without him, I wouldn't be anything."
"I'm very honoured to bring that name and also to have the faith I have."
Since being bought by Manchester City for £28.6 million, he has scored 6 times in 7 starts and at international level, he was a starter in both the Brazilian team that came runners-up at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the Gold Medal winners at the 2016 Olympics.
He is compared with Ronaldo and turned down an opportunity to play for Barcelona, alongside country mate Neymar.
