The Christian author and pastor Christy Wimber has taken to Twitter to announce the end of her marriage.
The mother of two, who's based in California, is a former senior pastor and also a television host.
She had been married to husband Sean since 1990, part of the Christian dynasty of the Wimber family and grew up next door to the Wimbers.
Sean's father was Vineyard founder, Quaker John Wimber, who converted aged 29 and is remembered among many charismatics as a pioneer whose ministry impacted the church on both sides of the Atlantic.
Both Christy and Sean Wimber have long been involved in the Vineyard Church Movement, formed in 1977.
In her post Christy said: "Following a long and difficult season/process, my marriage has come to an end. I have not acted immorally. The people I work with, my closest of friends and oversight are aware of what I have been walking through. I don't believe divorce is God's plan, however, I do believe health and wholeness is. I don't plan to share any details. I ask that you pray for us, especially my kids, remembering we are human."
Recently Christy Wimber talked about having skin cancer and her treatment.
In 2019 she spoke about her decision to take the last two years off from leading a church and how she was attending Saddleback Church, led by Pastor Rick Warren.
In her Twitter post she also included comments from Warren.
Christy is author of a number of books including The Way in is the Way on, which focuses on John Wimber's writings and teachings.
