Grammy-award-winning Gospel singer Mandisa Hudley has passed away aged 47.
Christian radio station K-Love announced the sad news on Friday, highlighting her personal faith in the Lord. The station's media officer, David Pierce, said: “Mandisa loved Jesus, and she used her unusually extensive platform to talk about Him at every turn. Her kindness was epic, her smile electric, her voice massive, but it was no match for the size of her heart.”
Pierce also said the singer will forever be remembered not just for her music but even more for “her huge heart and sincerity”.
He added: “Mandisa struggled, and she was vulnerable enough to share that with us, which helped us talk about our own struggles. Mandisa’s struggles are over, she is with the God she sang about now. While we are saddened, Mandisa is home. We’re praying for Mandisa’s family and friends and ask you to join us."
Mandisa was found dead at her home in Nashville, Tennesse on Thursday and the cause of death is unknown.
Mandisa released her debut album, 'True Beauty,' in 2007. Her 2013 album, 'Overcomer,' won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.
