Giant prayer monument looking for designer

Once built, it's hoped the structure will become as famous as the Angel of the North.

The idea is that the structure will consist a million bricks, each representing an individual answered prayer.

With the backing of the Royal Institute of British Architects, a competition has been launched to find a design for the monument which has so far been called 'The wall of answered prayer'.

The finished product will be three times the size of the Angel of the North and bigger than 60 houses.

A judging panel which includes MPs, architects and sculptors will whittle the entries down to four in January.

The project has been created by former Leicester City football club chaplain Richard Gamble (pictured).

Speaking on Premier's News Hour, he explained what he's looking for from designers.

He said: It's going to be a colossally big structure, but we want it to have a degree of intrigue.

"We want passers-by to have a sense that they want to go and explore more."

Earlier this year, more than £47,000 was raised through a crowd funding opportunity and it saw more than 700 Christians from across the world getting involved in this innovative project.
