Evangelist Franklin Graham has warned that Christian businesses may be at risk of attack if Joe Biden wins the US presidential election.
Speaking to Newsmax at the weekend, the prominent preacher claimed that a win for the Democrats could spark mayhem for followers of Jesus and religious institutions across the country.
"I’m afraid there will be an attack against Christian businesses like we saw during the Obama administration," Graham said. "Florists who refused to do flowers for a gay wedding, they will put out of business. Someone who didn’t want to make a cake for a gay wedding, put out of business."
As millions of Americans headed to the polls on Tuesday, Graham urged people to "make sure you pray before you vote."
"The United States is an imperfect country that worked through its failures to become strong and a beacon of light," he declared. "No other country has brought more freedom and prosperity to so many people from around the world than the United States of America."
The election is not over yet, with Joe Biden and incumbent Donald Trump neck and neck in a handful of critical swing states. Due to the number of mail-in ballots cast as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, it could be several days or even weeks before the final result is confirmed and the president is officially elected.
