Flames struck the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Sava on Broadway at around 7pm on Sunday.
At least 170 firefighters were required to tackle the blaze with the New York Fire Department posting an aerial video (below, top) and ground-view video of the flames engulfing the church.

No one was injured in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
