A fire has affected a church building in Essex, causing significant damage.
Revival Church Billericay took to Facebook to share that their property was impacted by the intense heat and smoke stemming from the blaze at the community hub on High Street in the town but that "those in the building were able to get out safely".
"We appreciate the love and support of our community during this time," the post read.
"There is much to be done and our passion for having a community facility remains undiminished."
According to the county's fire service, four crews were mobilised following the report of the incident around 15:00 on Thursday.
The church also mentioned that the fire affected the operations of Billericay and Basildon Street Pastors, as well as some first-floor offices.
In a more recent post, the church said they have been “overwhelmed by the kindness and help of so many people”.
“We are grateful for those who've given of their professional expertise, for businesses and individuals who have generously given resource and encouragement and for the local Christian community who have upheld us in prayer and love. We are also profoundly grateful for the Fire and Police services, for their diligence and hard work. Thank you from everyone at the Community Hub.”
