The lifesize model, called The Black Nazarene, was paraded on a gilded carriage through the capital city on Monday in an event which continued until early on Tuesday morning.
Filipino Roman Catholic devotees in Manila clambered to try and kiss the image and rub it with their towels, in the hope of receiving a blessing.
Many attendees come barefoot as a sign of reverence for the event, which was celebrating the feast day of the Black Nazarene - 9th January.
Several people were injured in the spectacle, which went ahead despite concerns among security officials it could be targeted by terrorists.
The former-Spanish colony boasts more Catholics than virtually any other country in the world, with around 76 million people identifying themselves as Catholic, according to the Pew Research Center.
