Faith groups aim to reclaim St George's day from 'extremists' with campaign

Leading interfaith groups are hoping to reclaim St George's Day back from what they've described as 'extremists' with a new campaign.

The 'St George 4 All' day of action is being launched today as England remembers its patron saint.

Revd Jonathan Edwards, the General Secretary of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, has been telling Premier's Victoria Laurence on the News Hour why they're doing it:

Meanwhile, the Archbishop of York has led prayers at Stockton Parish Church in Durham today to mark St George's Day. Dr John Sentamu wants everyone to rejoice in what he refers to as 'our great land' and is also calling for the day to become a Bank Holiday in England.
