Eric Trump is facing criticism after claiming that humanity and the world are now “much better” because his father is back in the White House.
“We’re saving Christianity. We’re saving God, we’re saving the family unit. We’re saving this nation,” he told right-wing commentator Benny Johnson.
He continued: “DEI is out the window, Benny. You no longer have Colin Kaepernick kneeling for the national anthem. You no longer have Budweiser going woke as hell — all of this is dead.”
Critics such as X user Mike Inacay described Trump’s “saving God” comments as “maybe the most insane and offensive thing anyone can say”, according to The Huffington Post.
“No one ‘saves’ God,” wrote X user Jennifer Erin Valent. “Every Christian should know that and be repulsed by the very assertion. May God bring repentance and renewal.”
X user Scott Barber commented: “It is fascinating to see how much the Trump family lacks any sort of Christian formation. They use the language of Christianity like someone stumbling with a foreign language. It’s almost like they just adopted the trappings of Christianity in order to exploit it for power.”
Another user posted: “We’ve moved rather quickly from ‘God saved Trump’ to ‘Trump is saving God’, which I guess is the foundation of the new MAGA religion?”
