The news emerged after news site Fusion reported it had obtained a copy of Energy Secretary Rick Perry's schedule for 5 April.
Perry was scheduled on it to meet for an hour-long "Cabinet Member Bible Study."
While the schedule didn't list who would be in attendance, Pastor Ralph Drollinger, whose mission is to 'take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the political leaders of the world' via Capitol Ministries, claims on his web site to be running weekly Bible sessions with 'US Cabinet Members, Senators and Representatives in Washington'.
The Republican supporting pastor has sparked outcry over his controversial political and religious leanings.
According to Fusion, Drollinger has said Catholicism is ' the world's largest false religion,' that female legislators who continue working after having children are sinners, and that homosexuality is an 'abomination.'
Drollinger has praised Trump's administration and on the Capital Ministries website it states: "Suddenly these men who have been discipled by the Church are in prominent positions of authority to change the course of America in ways that are biblical. If they were not mature in Christ it is doubtful that that would happen."
