"Don't judge her, pray for her", urges Katy Perry's dad

by Antony Bushfield

Katy Perry, an international musician, was once known for her faith-based songs before being signed by a major recording label.

Her father Keith Hudson and her mother Mary are both pastors in California.

The singer had been raised as a Christian by them but her dance routines and risqué song lyrics have led many to suggest she has lost her faith.

"I want you to pray for my daughter," Mr Hudson told his congregation. "Don't judge her, pray for her."

Once releasing tracks entitled 'Trust In Me' and 'Faith Won't Fail', Katy Perry is now better known for 'I Kissed a Girl' and 'You're So Gay'.

Her father continued: "Where do you think Jesus would go?

"If you are a parent who agrees with everything your son or daughter does, stand up, we'll shoot you, get rid of you now because you've been walking in a lie."

He added that he was "very proud" of Katy Perry and her new single Rise, which she is due to perform at the Rio Olympics.
