Creation Fest, the long-running Christian festival held in Cornwall, has announced that this summer's gathering will be its last in its current form.

For over 25 years, the festival has brought together Christians from across the South West region for worship, teaching and community. But organisers said the change is not the end of the festival's mission, but the beginning of a new one.

"Inspired by the words of Jesus in John 12:24, we believe that what has been planted and nurtured through Creation Fest is now being multiplied into new opportunities for mission, discipleship, and community across the South West," a statement reads.

"The heart remains the same: helping people encounter the hope and love of Jesus. The shape is changing, but the mission is growing."

This year's festival, billed as "The Final Festival," will run from 6th to 9th August at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre in Wadebridge.

The announcement follows a period of financial strain for the festival. In recent years, Creation Fest has faced repeated funding shortfalls, including a fundraising appeal earlier this year seeking up to £100,000 to help secure this summer's event and put the festival on a stable financial footing going forward.

Organisers have invited longtime supporters and newcomers to attend the final festival to celebrate "all that God has done through the ministry, to be equipped for the year ahead, and to hear more about the new chapter that is emerging".
