Dougal Gunter threatened the man, in his 40s, with a knife after recording him with Alverie Walker, before telling him he would show the video to his church unless he paid £500.
A judge jailed Gunter for four years for the "nasty and mean" blackmail, while Walker, who cried in the dock was sentenced, for 32 months.
Bristol Crown Court heard Gunter managed to get £165 of the £500 he wanted before the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, went to the police.
Judge Michael Roach told the couple who remain together and have a child: "What you did in committing this blackmail was just plain nasty and mean.
"You lured a man to her address and you set him up. Then when he had committed acts of sexual favours you started to blackmail him. What you did was abhorrent."
Defending for Jamaican Gunter, Tom Stevens, said although it was an "unpleasant" blackmail with a "degree of planning" it had not been a protracted one.
As well as blackmail Gunter also pleaded guilty to the theft of £165.
"He is deeply ashamed of what occurred two years ago," Mr Stevens said.
"He will never find himself embroiled in something like this again."
Speaking for Walker, Kevin Cobham, said she had a nine-year-old daughter and worked three different jobs.
"She is ashamed, embarrassed and humiliated to be finding herself in these circumstances.
"Yes, she said she would lure him to the premises, but her knowledge as to what might happen was not complete."
