Pop star Justin Bieber has recalled the moment he got baptised alongside his wife, Hailey. Sharing pictures of the occasion in an Instagram post on Wednesday, the singer said it was "one of most special moments of my life".
"The moment @haileybieber my wife and I got baptized together! This was one of most special moments of my life. Confessing our love and trust in Jesus publicly with our friends and family," he posted. Justin and Hailey were baptised in a lake by long-time friend and pastor, Judah Smith.
His post has been liked almost four million times, with many congratulating him on the occasion. It's thought to have taken place around 23rd July, when presenter Jason Kennedy and his wife also posted pictures of their baptism with the same pastor. Kennedy commented on Bieber's post: "One of the top moments of my life doing this with you."
"Amazing. Love you," wrote Hillsong NYC pastor, Carl Lentz. "CHILLS STILL," added Judah Smith.
Speaking to former BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe about his renewed relationship with Jesus earlier this year, Bieber talked about the importance of having mentors and leaders to look up to.
"Im very, very grateful to have influences in my life that have played a huge part in me seeing their relationship with Jesus and their relationship with their wives, and their relationship with their kids, and saying, 'That's what I want,' and I'm striving after that," he said.
"God has already loved me for who I am before I did anything to earn or deserve it. It's a free gift by accepting Jesus, giving your life to him, and what he did is the gift. The forgiveness is the thing that we look at and we go, you know, I'm going to worship you, God, because you gave me something so good."
Earlier this week, Justin shared a gospel message with his 143 million Instagram followers:
