A woman who campaigned to stop a 60-metre wind turbine being built near her village church has won a High Court fight.
Jane Mordue complained that a turbine on a farm in Wappenham, Northamptonshire would diminish the appearance of the building.
A judge at the High Court in London ruled in her favour agreeing that earlier planning permission should be removed.
The Church of St Mary in Wappenham, dating back to the 13th century, would have been affected by the turbine, it was argued.
Mrs Mordue, chairman of the Wappenham Wind Turbine Action Group, said if the structure had been approved it would have damaged the landscape and sky line.
Judge Howell said the original planning permission approval has "failed to give reasons" in favour of the turbine.
