Rev Roland Barnes also expressed pain at leaving his current Ministry Leader post in the south of the national park, where he has lived for 37 years.
The married father-of-two said: "Moving will be a great wrench; leaving so many good friends, with whom we've shared all the ups and downs of life for over half a lifetime."
"However, as I have prayed and thought about this new role, I believe that it will be an excellent opportunity for me and the faithful people of Bro Moelwyn to grow together in our faith and service to our Lord."
Born and raised in the Bala area, on the eastern tip of Snowdonia, Rev Barnes was ordained in 2003 after training for ministry with the Diocese of Bangor.
The Bishop of Bangor, Rt Rev Andy John said: "Roland has been a faithful shepherd to his local communities for many years.
"I give thanks to God for all that Roland has accomplished, and thank Roland for his ministry in Bro Cyfeiliog and Mawddwy.
"Now he has the opportunity to use his gifts in new communities, to lead and grow the Body of Christ in Bro Moelwyn."
A service to mark Rev Barnes' new appointment is planned for February next year.
Establishing Ministry Areas - one aspect of the Church in Wales' 2020 Vision - has been among a catalogue of changes to try to boost growth in the face of shrinking congregations.
