Christianity Explored celebrates reaching 100 countries

The programme, which originated from All Souls Church in central London 16 years ago, has most recently been introduced in Ivory Coast, West Africa.

Asked on Premier's News Hour why it has enjoyed such significant success, chief executive Ian Roberts said: "I think the core is that all we're doing is preaching the Gospel.

"The course is about Mark's gospel; it's looking at who Jesus is in Mark's gospel, who he is, why he came and what it means to follow him.

"I think that's the same Gospel in any country and any language, and meets people where they're at."

Now with a presence in more than half of the world's 193 nations, Christianity Explored plans to boost its global reach further, by expanding into another 46 countries by 2021.

First published in 2001, organisers say tens of thousands of people have been helped to know Jesus through the course, which is now available in complete or partial translations in approximately 50 languages.
