The evangelistic ministry Christianity Explored has appointed a new national director to grow the ministry.

Christianity Explored is a course for people looking into the Christian faith that takes non-believers through Mark's gospel. The ministry, which came from All Souls Church, Langham Place, also produces follow-up courses, resources for children and videos about Christianity.

Kay Carter has been appointed as its first UK national director. She will oversee the development of new evangelistic resources which are in development and help the ministry to reach new audiences.

As the ministry grows globally, Carter will give leadership in the UK and help free up the existing leadership team to work on international growth.

Carter joins Christianity Explored Ministries from Tyndale House, an Biblical research institution in Cambridge, where she was vice principal for strategy and communications. She used to work for The Sunday Times and later for the All Party Parliamentary Group for International Freedom of Religion or Belief in the Houses of Parliament.

Kay Carter said of her appointment: "I am delighted to have joined Christianity Explored Ministries as UK National Director - working with the amazing team to help Christians to love, live, and tell the good news of Jesus. As a former CE leader myself, it’s a huge privilege to play a part in creating the next generation of resources."

She has spoken before about evangelism and how to communicate the gospel well.

Ian Roberts, the CEO of CEM said: "Kay’s appointment is a milestone in the growth of CEM. Evangelism in the UK has changed rapidly since the Covid pandemic hit, and Kay’s experience in strategy and communication will help the ministry to equip the church for Bible-based evangelism in the years to come."

One of the projects Carter will oversee is a three-session series called Hope Explored, due to be released soon.
